Is your delayed baggage or a forgotten item still at Denver International Airport? City to Summit Courier retrieves released items from DEN/DIA and delivers them directly to hotels, resorts, vacation rentals, residences, and businesses throughout Colorado’s mountain communities.

Available for delayed airline baggage, airport lost-and-found property, air cargo, skis, travel gear, and other approved items.

Under the Department of Transportation, it is federal law that “airlines are required to compensate passengers for reasonable, verifiable, and actual incidental expenses that they may incur while their bags are delayed – subject to the [maximum liability limits](https://www.transportation.gov/lost-delayed-or-damaged-baggage#Liability%20Limits).” For more details, please visit [USDOT Aviation Consumer Protection](https://www.transportation.gov/lost-delayed-or-damaged-baggage).

Many airlines offer their own delayed baggage delivery service but if their length of delivery time is unreasonable, your direct delivery cost is a reasonable incidental expense. For smoother reimbursement, ensure the airline has agreed to this expense in writing. If airline is unreasonable, you may file a consumer complaint with the [USDOT here](https://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer/file-consumer-complaint).

Before We Can Pick Up Your Item
-------------------------------

Please contact the airline, baggage office, TSA, or Denver airport lost-and-found department before requesting dispatch. Visit [DIA/DEN Lost and Found](https://www.flydenver.com/at-the-airport/services-and-amenities/lost-and-found/), [DIA/DEN Baggage Claim](https://denverairport-dia.com/baggage-claim/), or [TSA Lost and Found](https://www.tsa.gov/contact/lost-and-found) for resources.

**For a successful delivery, please confirm the following:**

- The item has been located and is physically ready for pick up.
- You know which airline office or lost-and-found department has it.
- You have the claim, baggage, or lost-and-found reference number.
- For air cargo, you have the air waybill number.
- The holding office permits a third-party courier to collect it.
- You know what identification or written authorization is required.
- You have confirmed the office’s pick up hours.
- Your hotel, resort, or recipient can accept the delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions
--------------------------

Can you collect delayed luggage from an airline at DEN?

Yes, when the airline has located the luggage, confirms it is ready, and permits its release to an authorized third-party courier. The airline may require a claim number, bag-tag number, identification, or written authorization.

Can you retrieve property from Denver airport lost and found?

Yes. The owner of property must complete the lost-and-found claim process before dispatch. The office must confirm that the item is ready and explain how it can be released to a courier.

Will the airline reimburse the direct delivery cost for my delayed baggage?

In most circumstances, yes. Under U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) regulations, airlines must reimburse passengers for reasonable, verifiable, and actual incidental expenses incurred while their baggage is delayed, subject to applicable liability limits. Keep your receipts to support your claim.
For more information, visit [USDOT Aviation Consumer Protection](https://www.transportation.gov/lost-delayed-or-damaged-baggage).

Can you deliver to a hotel or resort?

Yes. Please give us the property name, delivery address, reservation name, recipient’s phone number, and confirmation that the front desk or bell desk can accept the item.

Do you provide same-day delivery?

Same-day service may be available depending on the item’s release status, pick up office hours, driver availability, and destination.

What if the airline will not release the bag?

We cannot retrieve an item without the holder’s authorization. Airport parking, waiting time, or an unsuccessful pick up charge may apply if a driver is dispatched based on inaccurate or incomplete release information.
